Are you one of Fairfield County's Environmental Leaders of Tomorrow? Is environmental conservation your thing? Do you want to help your community reduce its carbon footprint and help save the polar bear at the same time? Then we have two once-in-a-lifetime opportunities for you!
For the second consecutive year, the Gault-Polar Bears International (PBI) Alliance, is proud to bring two green teen competitions - Project Polar Bear & Leadership Camp - to Fairfield County high school students.
Project Polar Bear
A competition for high school students ages 14-18, designed to help you and your friends develop community projects that will help reduce the carbon dioxide load in the atmostphere and save the polar bear's habitat. Create a team with 1 or 2 of your friends, plus 1 adult advisor, and register your team and project between June 1st and July 31st, 2009 at: polarbearsinternational.org/project-polar-bear/
Leadership Camp
A competition for one lucky Fairfield County "rising high school junior" to travel to Churchill, Manitoba, Canada, this October, to explore the subarctic polar bear habitat. The student will return as Fairfield County's Arctic Ambassador. His/her mission will be to educate area school children about the plight of the polar bear and what they can do to help.
